Making a half batch of Christmas Mincemeat

Hi,
I am looking to make Delia home-made Christmas mincemeat, but would like to know if I half the recipe do I also half the cooking time? Also is there a reason for the long cooking time of 3 hours as some other recipes only cook it for around 10 mins?

Hello,
Half the amount will still need 3 hours.
We find the long, very gently heat gives the best flavour and texture and it will last for years.
