To start us off we have chosen the latest book from Michael Rosen; Getting Better is his account of facing chronic illness and the loss of a child, and how anyone who is feeling lost and out of their depth will see joy and hope in the future. Life in Her Hands by Averil Mansfield tells her own story of becoming a female surgeon in the early 1970's, when only 2 per cent of her colleagues were women.
