Who's that girl?

This year Delia celebrates 50 years of cookery writing, and you can read how she went from washing up, to writing recipes (via hairdressing and various other jobs), in her own words, in delicious. Magazine.

It's impossible to underestimate the 'Delia effect' we are all familiar with, but you may not know the series of events that saw her rise from a young girl who drifted from job to job, to becoming a firm fixture on television. As she says  “I’d failed my 11-plus and had no O levels, but I had the chance to reach people – 5 million of them”. And reach them she did!
