A Burns Night Supper is held in honour of the Scottish poet, Robert Burns on or around his birthday which is on January 25th.
A traditional supper sees a haggis proudly brought into the room by the chef, led by a piper, there would then follow, speeches, poems, toasts and songs, finally ending with a usually rowdy rendition of Auld Lang Syne. Our menu for Burns Night starts with Potted Haddie, followed by Haggis Pie with Tatties and finally one of Delia's own favourite Scottish desserts, Cranachan.
