On Sunday 16 September, The London Concert Orchestra celebrates the work of Tchaikovsky at the Royal Festival Hall - a composer universally known for his unusually wide stylistic and emotional range. One of the best known of all violin concertos, Tchaikovsky's is a masterpiece, considered to be one of the most technically difficult. Acclaimed violin soloist Jennifer Pike performs this truly viruosic piece with verve and intensity.
This concert will include many much loved pieces from the great composer including The Finale from Swan Lake, The Waltz of the Flowers, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, The Nutcracker Suite and the Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture - all so memorable that it is easy to understand why his work for ballet is adored by so many. The evening will conclude with a rousing performance of the 1812 Overture, complete with thundering cannon effects and an indoor firework finale.
