I made my Classic Christmas cake, thinking I would decorate it with nuts like the photo of the last minute Christmas cake. However, I thought the nuts would be stuck to the cake using apricot jam glazing or something - I have only just realised I should have put them on the cake before cooking it. Is there anyway I can decorate the cake with nuts even though it is already cooked? This is the first time I've made one and I don't think I can face making marzipan and icing and icing it.

Hi Lyndsey. I am about to make my delia's classic christmas cake. However my family do not like the taste of alcohol.
Can you suggest an alternative to use to soak the fruit and feed the cake
Also can I still make it weeks in advance or should I make it nearer the time, as I believe the alcohol preserve the cake?
Kind regards - Allison
I am making a 20 cm square golden wedding cake, do you have a recipe for a Madeira cake that would be appropriate? If not, could you give me a rough baking temperature/time for a 20 cm square cake,
Using the Classic Christmas cake recipes, and feeding it. Do I need to make new holes each week, or use existing and more alcohol? Thank you
I would like to make the light Christmas cake. How far ahead of Christmas should it be made? Should I feed it with brandy / sherry?
