Worried about the Mincemeat

I made a batch of Delias mincemeat and put into Kilner jars. As the recipe states it should be cold when it ones into jars I am concerned that they will not have formed a vacuum. Is a vacuum essential to store the cooked mincemeat? I want to give as presents so concerned that the jars are safe to store for a while.

All I can say is that this is the way that we I have always done it and we haven’t had any problems, even when it’s been stored for more than 3 years.
