Classic Christmas Cake. Spreadable butter, do mean something like Lurpak spreadable or a more suitable spreadable? As you are adding salt to the mix do I take it you mean unsalted spreadable? Can you substitute butter for the spreadable version or does spreadable simply make mixing easier. Lastly, I've just bought the dried fruit from Country Ingredients, any suggestions when I should start baking for a well matured cake?
Many thanks,
Ian.

Hello Ian,
We use Lurpak slightly salted but you can use another brand and it can be unsalted.
Yes you can use block butter but it needs to be very soft.
Choosing Fats for Cakes
We usually bake our cakes 6 weeks ahead but you can make it earlier if it suits you better.
Kind regards
