Hi there, just made Delia's Date & Pecan Nut loaf cake - it was a good reminder to check on all the ingredients before starting! Having started off with the syrup, treacle etc in a pan I continued without either of the main stars from the title of the bake, I substituted dates for prunes, and pistachios for pecans. Result was a very dense, solid cake, texture of malt loaf and tasting of bread pudding, according to my son! It's gone down a treat!
