Hi Lindsey, do you know if powered yeast is the same as instant yeast? It is difficult to get the instant, as it is called here, in Spain and I am out of it now. I can get dried yeast but was given a jar of powered and I am wondering if I can use this in the hot cross buns recipe. Incidentlally, I made a batch already with the instant and they turned out beautifully, it is a lovely recipe.
Wishing you all a safe and Happy Easter,
Margaret

Hello,
I think it must be that same, but you could check that instructions – if it says to add the dry yeast to the flour it is the same as easy bake or instant yeast.
If not it will tell you to mix it with warm liquid before adding it to the flour.
A very Happy Easter to you too.
Lindsey
Thank you for the quick reply Lindsey, no instructions on the jar other than the amonts recommended to use per weight of flour, I will give it a go, if they dont rise then we can have a game of football with them over Easter, just kidding!
