The oats in Parkin

Pinhead oatmeal is not obtainable in South Africa. Will steel cut oatmeal (for Parkin) do as a sustitute?

Hello,
We use medium oatmeal in Delia’s recipe for Parking. Steel cut / Pin head oatmeal is coarser. If you cannot get medium oatmeal I’d opt for porridge oats.
