The loaf tin - explained!

You white loaf recipe calls for a 'Delia 1lb Loaf Tin or a traditional 2lb Loaf Tin. Surely the latter must be twice as big! Can you explain what you mean by this please?

Hello.
The loaf tin that Delia uses for all her new cake book recipes is the Delia Online / Silverwood 1lb Loaf Tin.
The Silverwood 1lb loaf tin (so called because it was designed to make a 1lb loaf of baker’s bread) is equivalent to a traditional boxed style 2lb loaf tin (i.e. approximately 19 x 12 cm x 9 cm deep).
It has a capacity of about 1250mls.
