Sugar swaps in Carrot Cake

Hi, I’m making the ultimate carrot cake tomorrow but my shopping delivery substituted dark brown sugar for Demerara sugar. Will that be ok or too large crystals?? Or should I use normal caster sugar? Thanks
I agree with you about the crystals and in this instance, I would use the castor sugar. And if you have it perhaps add a tablespoon of treacle.
