I've just cooked the Traditional Braised Red Cabbage with Apples but there is an overpowering taste of cloves. Is there anything I can do to tone this down or do I just need to start again?

Before throwing it, I’d attempt to correct it by pouring a freshly boiled kettle of water over it then let it stand for five minutes. After that drain it well in a colander and then have a taste. If it’s mellowed enough for your taste, then you can add some butter and seasoning to bring it back to life!
