Hi Lindsey
I was thinking about making the Creole Christmas Cake. Could you please tell me how long the cake can be stored for and the best way of storing the cake.
Kind regards
Chris
A must-have in any kitchen is a good set of bakeware, and what better than Delia's own range, made in the UK to her own specification. This month, we have a full set to giveaway with our exclusive competition in association with Grana Padano.

Hello Chris,
We make our cake 6 weeks before Christmas but it will keep for months
To store, wrap the cake in a double layer of greaseproof paper and then in double foil.
Secure it all with an elastic band, then keep it in an airtight container till needed. Leave it in a cool, dark place.
If you feed the cake with Brandy or Armagnac it will keep even longer..
To feed a Christmas Cake…
This is done by making small holes in the top and bottom of the cake with a darning needle or metal skewer, then spooning over teaspoonfuls of brandy to soak in through the holes and permeate the cake. We use a couple of teaspoons about six times.
Kind regards
Lindsey
