Rinsing lentils

Before boiling red lentils I rinse them. Should I keep on rinsing till all the froth goes and the water runs clear? What difference would it make if I stopped rinsing after only a minute or so?

We don’t rinse lentils.
But if you really want to, I would put the lentils into a bowl and add enough water to cover them. Swirl them around for a few seconds then drain them through a sieve.
