Hi - can I steam Delia's "cheat's" Christmas pudding? And, if so, for how long. Thank you.

Hello,
I think they will be ok if heated briefly in a microwave. Microwaves vary so I would suggest 30 seconds, check them and give them another 30 seconds or so until they feel warm enough. If you overheat them that will be tough. I would put a small heat proof container of water in the microwave to create some steam.
Kind regards
Lindsey

Thank you for such a prompt reply. I'm afraid I wasn't clear in my question. I have found Delia's cheat's Christmas pudding recipe, the one made with mincemeat. I am stranded, because of Covid 19, in the USA and am likely to be here till next year - unless there's a vaccine sooner (fingers crossed). Anyway, I'm planning to make a Christmas pudding (at Christmas) and am attracted to the cheat's one so I don't need to buy lots of dried fruit which I might not be able to use up. I'd prefer to steam it if possible, as I think it'll taste nicer. So my question should have been: if I make the cheat's Christmas pudding, how long will it take to cook it from scratch by steaming?
I have two of Delia's books with me and it is good to have an "old friend" here whilst I'm away from London for such a long time. Deliaonline is a wonderful website. And a great comfort in my "exile".

Sorry my mistake, I thought you were referring to the individual puddings.
If steaming on top of the stove instead of steaming in the oven, I would give it the same time (2.25 hours) and serve. It only needs re-steaming to re-heat if it has been made ahead.
