Asked on 12 Feb 2020 by Jacqueline Bonner So, made wholemeal apricot slice today. Turned out a mass of dry crumbs , nothing like photo. Why is that do you think Jackie Bonner Australia Lindsey, Food Editor replied Hello Jackie, Firstly, this can be a bit crumbly. To make sure it holds together you need to be press it down very firmly. Also it helps if the chopped apricots are the soft eating variety so that they feel a bit squidgy when they are chopped. Lastly, when the weather is warm it can help to leave them longer before you cut them so the butter has time to set and helps hold them together. I hope that helps.
