Keeping a cake with the marzipan
I am going to use Delia’s recipe for the Almond Icing for my Christmas cake. As the egg is cooked over hot water whilst beating in the icing sugar and brandy, it is not strictly raw, so how long will it last on the cake. My cake normally lasts until about May, wrapped in oven paper and in an airtight tin. Will the almond icing go off?
