I usually use Delia's Prune and Armagnac Christmas cake recipe but somehow I seem to have misplaced it in a recent move. Is the Creole cake a good alternative or can you point me to where I might get a copy of the original recipe?
Thanks!
A must-have in any kitchen is a good set of bakeware, and what better than Delia's own range, made in the UK to her own specification. This month, we have a full set to giveaway with our exclusive competition in association with Grana Padano.

Hello,
That was in Delia’s Complete Christmas with WH Smiths.
The Creole Cake is the similar but is you want it as before the differences are…
For the pre-soak...
275ml Armagnac (instead of the rum, brandy, cherry brandy and port)
350g pitted ready to eat prunes - chopped
225g currants (instead of the 450g of currants)
The raisins were the same amount.
50g mixed chopped nuts were used instead of the almonds but either will work.
Grated zest of 1 lemon and 1 orange
It was baked in an 8inch (20cm) square tin, but we mow use a 20cm round.
Creole Christmas Cake
Kind regards
Lindsey
Thank you! Can you just confirm the currants and raisins again - the creole recipe requires 450g raisins and 225g currants. Your response was as follows, perhaps you meant 450g of currants?
"225g currants (instead of the 450g of currants)
The raisins were the same amount."
Hi,
It’s 350g prunes, 50g cherries, 50g almonds, 110g peel, 225g raisins, 225g currants.
Kind regards
Lindsey
