

Hello Lindsey, I have made 2 of Delia’s Creole Christmas cakes . Last weekend I unwrapped them to feed them . One was fine , the other had grease on the the parchment paper( obviously the butter) , I fed them both with brandy and the one that was greasy I changed the parchment paper . What was the reason for this and will it be alright to consume?

Hello Margaret,
I’m not sure why you have found different results following the same recipe.
Did you double the recipe and split between two tins or make the recipe twice?
Could you have made a mistake in weighing the ingredients?
The best way to know if it’s ok is to taste it. I would use a sharp knife and cut a sliver from the base to check.
