We have not experienced any issues with Delia’s recipe for marzipan.
The egg is cooked in the recipe but we do not know if it is cooked sufficiently to make it completely worry free for venerable groups.
I my opinion Delia’s recipe is safe but if you have any concerns you could buy a good quality natural marzipan instead.
The NHS have a page on their website which says….
