I always loved the truffle torte but now I am dairy free. Can I use tinned coconut cream or milk instead of double cream in the re pie?

Yes, you could substitute the cream with coconut cream if you whip it. I presume as you are dairy free that you know how to do that.
Whilst I have you! You might like to know that I made Delia’s marmalade cake using lard instead of butter and coconut cream instead of milk on Friday and severed it today and it was lovely.
