

I may be cutting it a bit tight this year but over the next few days I’ll be baking a number of Delia’s Classic Christmas Cake
This year I’d like to do a square one. Am I correct in assuming I will need an 8 inch (20cm) for this purpose. If using a square tin do the ingredients need to be increased or decreased. Does baking time alter

Hello Kevin,
We think 6 weeks is ideal so you’re not cutting it fine.
We do a 5 egg mix in an 8 inch square and bake it for 4 ¾ hours on the bottom shelf of a conventional oven set at 140C.
I would have a peek at 4 hours.
