Making an 18cm square Christmas Cake

Hi
Can I make the Creole Xmas cake or the traditional Xmas cake in an 18cm square tin. If so how do I calculate amounts for a successful out come?

A cake mixture for and 20cm (8 inch) round will fit into an 18cm (7 inch) square.
