

Hi Lindsey. In Delia’s original book, there was a date apple and walnut loaf that was a childhood favourite baked by my Nan, then mum, then me - is there any way it can be published online - it was amazing.

It’s almost the same at this recipe.
Apricot, Apple and Pecan Loaf
Same eggs, flours, sugar, salt, baking powder, apple & milk. Then instead of the pecans and apricots it was 110g roughly chopped walnuts (not toasted) and 75g roughly chopped dates.
Temperature was the same. But the tin was 9 by 19cm base (which is smaller than the one we use now).
Method was near enough the same and baking time was 1 hour or until it feels springy in the centre.
