Lid popped off the Christmas pudding

Im half way through staying my Christmas pudding. Im using a plastic bowl with lid but overfilled it so the lid has popped off and about an inch of pudding is exposed. what should I do?

You’re going to have to wait and see how it is when it is completely cold.
It will shrink back. If it is dark and firm it should be fine. It may need a bit of a trim.
