

Hello,
I love the lemon and poppyseed cake recipe but would like to make it in a loaf tin instead of the round tin quoted in the recipe. Do I need to change quantities and cooking times? I have both 1 and 2lb loaf tins.

The loaf tin we use is the Silverwood 1lb loaf tin (so called because it was designed to make a 1lb loaf of baker’s bread) is equivalent to a traditional boxed style 2lb loaf tin (i.e. approximately 19 x 12 cm x 9 cm deep).
It has a capacity of about 1250mls.
We haven’t tested the Double Lemon Drizzle Cake in this loaf tin but the recipes as it is should fit.
I would bake it (in a lined tin) at 180C (160 in a fan oven) on a lower shelf for about an hour until springy in the centre.
