Hi Lindsey,
Can you help please? 1st of all we live in QLD Australia,
Due to the current Coronavirus, it is almost impossible to purchase plain bread flour( I always use spelt). I would like to make my usual recipe of Delia's Hot Cross Buns. I have managed to find some ordinary SR flour in the supermarket today, nothing else at all. Is it advisable to use this for the recipe and reduce the yeast please? if it is, could you please let me know the quantity I would need to use. Many thanks & kind regards
Lesley Garside

Hello Lesley,
I get you thinking, and yes, I think they may work, but we haven’t tried, so I’m worried that during these times when ingredients are scarce, that you use your precious available ingredients to make something else that may be disappointing.
So how about making “Hot Cross Scones” this year! Basic rich fruit scones but with mixed spice, cinnamon, currants and candied peel. With a cross, crossed slashes or without this year.
I think I might make these myself.
All best wishes to all of you.
Keep safe
Lindsey
