Hi, l am making Delia's creole Christmas cake. I have prepared the pre soaking ingredients and simmered them . All the liquid has evaporated and the mixture is quite 'sticky', have I simmered it for too long (it's not burnt!) or should it be like this ? If not should I add more alcohol, it's now cooled and in the fridge. Thank you Delia , cooked many of your lovely recipes.
Have I overheated my fruits for Creole Cake
