Asked on 26 Aug 2020 by Gary Hi, can you freeze uncooked savoury scone mixture? Thanjs Gary. Lindsey, Food Editor replied Hello Gary, Scones are best eaten within hours of being freshly baked. If you have to get ahead and freeze them it’s best to bake them and then as soon as they are cold freeze them in sealed freezer bags. Then on the day. take them out of the freezer to defrost a couple of hours before you need them. I would remove them from the freezer and then from their bag(s) and put them into a lidded plastic food container lined with kitchen towel. Freezing raw scones is possible but we find that they are more successful when cooked before freezing. Kind regards Lindsey Do you have a question for Delia or Lindsey? Why not ask your question now.
