I always batch bake the fruit scones and freeze them but I’d like to freeze them raw and bake when I need them. Is it best to bake directly from frozen or defrost then bake?

No, I would not freezer raw homemade scones.
I would ether make them, bake them, and freeze well wrapped as soon as they are cold, then take them out of the freezer a few hours before you want to fill / serve them.
Or you could weigh out all the ingredients ahead and make the scones on the day.
Some say you can freeze the scones ready to bake but I cannot vouch for this method.
