

I make my own pickled onions and last October I used about 15 kilos of onions so a lot of jars!They are not as hot as I usually have them with my own recipe and was wondering if I can add chilli powder now to 'spice' them up a bit?They are lovely but as I said a bit hotter would be better.
Thanks for any advice. I have loads of chilli powder and it really is hot!

I think you should try it and see if it works. I would do one jar at a time That way you won’t have to go through the sterilising process again and you can increase / decrease the quantity you add to each jar as you go. Perhaps start with an eighth or a quarter a teaspoon of your chilli powder. Add it to the opened jar, give it a good shake, and leave for a few days before you try them.
