Dry sponge cake

Why is my Victoria sponge dry.
I have tried the all-in-one method. I have also triedthe other method work as well - creaming sugar and butter first then eggs then folding in flour - but without success.
I am wondering if it is my oven - maybe too hot?
Yes, it may be your oven.
We use conventional heat at 170C but if you’re you only have the option of a fan setting you should set it t0 150C.
If you are actually using convectional heat at 170C I’d get an oven thermometer to check that your oven is running to the correct temperature.
