Delia's Christmas 1990

Hi , watching Delias Christmas ( again ) yesterday I noticed that Delia misses out the black treacle .
Please tell me it was a mistake and that even she can get something wrong !
Fingers crossed !

P.s just a rough calculation but recon I have now made the classic cake over 200 times .

Hello,

Your right, we don’t see the treacle going in, but I think there were time restrictions. Other ingredients were not shown being added in that recipe and others too. Delia says on the video that ‘they are some of the basic principles of classic Christmas cake making’ but I’ll ask Delia tomorrow to find out if she remembers if it was deliberately or accidentally left out and I’ll tell her about your hundreds of cakes too.
