Asked on 26 Mar 2020 by Clare Nichols How long does it take for fresh yeast to thaw. I know you can freeze it as I've done before but it's ages since I used it Lindsey, Food Editor replied Hello, It depends on the size of the piece of yeast. A small 25g piece will defrost in an hour or so. Make sure you keep it covered to prevent it drying out. A larger piece can be defrosted overnight in the fridge.
