Why did my basic easy White loaf which was perfectly crisp when I took it out of the oven go soft as soon as it had cooled ? Everything else about it was perfect .

Perhaps it wasn’t baked for long enough?
Did you crisp it in the oven for the extra 5 minutes and then coo on a rack?
It will keep crisper for longer in a bread bin (without plastic wrapping).
