I made the chunky marmalade. It has set beautifully, but the orange peel is tough, what should I do?
It’s not possible to soften the peel at this point but you can improve the eating experience…
Spoon all the contents of the jars into a large pan.
Wash and sterilise the jars, and wash & dry the lids.
Heat the marmalade gently until it has all melted.
Next strain the marmalade through a colander over a large bowl.
Put the peel into the bowl of a food processor and chop finely (you can do this on a clean chopping board if need be).
Return everything to the saucepan and heat until it comes up to simmering point.
Leave to settle for 20 minutes then re-pot and cover with fresh waxed paper and the lids.
A good wok is a kitchen staple and a must for every home cook so we're giving you the chance to win a Samuel Groves Classic Non-Stick Wok worth £170 from the Tri-Ply Collection.
