Hello, I'm going to make a Christmas mincemeat cake this week to see what it's like...found two very similar Delia recipes...they have almost the same amount of ingredients except for the flour...one has self-raising the other plain wholemeal - is that due to the one with self-raising being an all-in-one method?

Hello,
I think the one made with plain wholemeal flour has baking powder in it and is also made as an all-in-one cake.
Most probably because, at the time that particular version was developed, self-raising wholemeal flour wasn’t so readily available.
Kind regards
