I have made Delia’s traditional Christmas cake for many years and would like to make it in my Ninja 15-in-1 this year. It would be helpful to have suggested times and temperature. Bake or Steam Bake? I’m sure many people will be considering alternative methods now that energy prices are so high. Thank you.

Hello,
We do not have one of these, so we’re not able to advise you.
My instinct is to bake, and I would follow the nearest recipe match in the manufacturer’s instructions or from a Ninja 15 in 1 cookery book.
The long cooking of a traditionally baked Christmas cake slowly caramelises and darkens the sugar.
The result may be the same, but I do not know if alternative cooking methods will achieve the same rick, dark colours that we are all familiar with.
Kind regards
Lindsey
Thank you. I have looked at other recipes but this will always be my favourite! I’m going to try baking it at 120° for around 3 hours and then testing with a skewer. I’d love to hear comments from your other customers. I see many requests in the Ninja groups.
Made the cake in the Ninja 15-in-1. Followed Delia’s recipe for 8” cake. I baked it at 130° for 2 ¾ hours and decided it need a bit longer. Put on 120° for an extra half hour. Turned out fine.
