Chicken in Cidre clarification

I have recently managed to pick up a copy of Delia's Collection "Chicken" book but am confused with the recipe for chicken in cider, ( page 85 Autumn section) ,oven temperatures are given but the recipe then talks about simmering the cooking pot on the heat as if this is on the hob, please can you clarify

It looks like the oven temperature being there is a typo.
I would follow the method and cook it on the hob.
