Hello, I was about to make Delia's Victoria Sponge but whilst I had to attend to something else the butter melted on top of the Rayburn and now I have a sugary buttery liquid. Any suggestions what I can do with it please? Thank you.

If left to cool and set it may still whisk up to a light fluffy mixture.
Or you could make a caramel sauce with melted butter and sugar.
