Can I heat a Christmas Pudding in a microwave?

Have made your super Xmas pud recipe for many years. Instead of steaming for 8 hours, is it possible to use a microwave. Only thinking of saving fuel.

Steaming is the best way to re-heat a homemade pudding and the only way we recommend re-heating Delia’s Christmas pudding.
Microwaved puddings are frequently ruined. They tend to overheat and get tough & sticky.
Steaming lightens the pudding and after taking so much care to make your own pudding it’s such a shame to not steam it.
To re-heat leftover pudding we wrap it in foil and warm it either in the Aga or the oven.
