I want to steam an individual Christmas Pudding for a friend. They won’t have a steamer to finish the 1hour steaming. Can the little pudding be put in the microwave.
Alternatively can I do the extra steaming before I send it. Then it could be just warmed up.
The large Christmas pudding has had so many compliments I don’t want this one spoiled I’m sending my friend.

Hello
Steaming is definitely the best. Microwaved puddings are frequently ruined. They tend to overheat and get tough & sticky.
Steaming lightens the pudding and after taking so much care to make your own pudding it’s such a shame to not steam it.
Delia doesn’t even heat her leftover pudding in the microwave. She wraps it in foil and heats it in the Aga or the oven.
The steaming on the day is only to reheat as it is already completely cooked.
Does the recipient have another option? Perhaps steam in a bain marie in an oven?
Best wishes
