

I am making braised steak in Madeira with five kinds of mushrooms.
I have all the ingredients except dry Madeira, which I can't find anywhere.
I don't want to use beer. Would white dry white port substitute?

I’ve never cooked with dry white port so I’m not sure about it. It may be perfect but I’m not able to tell you.
If you like you could use red wine and a splash of ruby port, I know that works.
