I have used Delia's boiled egg method with success, but sometimes the eggs crack when lowered into the boiling water, even though they are at room temperature. Any tips for stopping this?

You can use a dressmakers pin (or you can get gadgets that do the same thing!) to make a tiny hole in the more rounded end of the egg,
