

Hi there,
I have made the last minute Christmas cake on two occasions. Both times it sank a little in the middle. Also the outside was a little burned.
Do you know if anyone else had this experience and do you have any ideas on how to avoid this? I love the flavour and also its a great use of my own mince meat!

I have baked it at 170 degrees. I do have a fan oven.
Do you think I should reduce the temperature and extend the duration of the cooking time?

Hi Helen,
All of Delia’s recipes with an eclectic oven temperature have been tested in a conventional oven, using top and bottom heat.
If you have a fan oven, we advise that you should reduce the given temperature by 20 degrees.
