After the butter and sugar have melted 8-10 mins, then for the sugar to reach a rich amber colour is this an additional 20-25 mins
or is the 8-10 mins inclusive?

It’s 8 – 10 minutes to melt then an additional 20 – 25 minutes to colour the sugar.
