Hi Lindsey
I am making the last minute Christmas cake at the weekend and have a query.
The last minute (brandy) one says self raising flour plus 3tsp baking powder
The sherry last minute one says plain wholemeal plus 3tsp baking powder. They seem pretty music the same recipe with differing flour/alcohol..
My concern is the baking powder with the self raising flour - is that ok? Will it not be too much?
Can I substitute self raising flour in the sherry Christmas cake?
I'm Coeliac and don't think I've seen wholemeal gf flour.
Thank you in advance
Lindsay

Hello Lindsay,
All of the recipes were tested at the time of publication however the self-rising flour versions with baking powder are the most recent.
I have made the cake a few times with Gluten Free Self Raising flour and the 3 level teaspoons of baking and we were happy with the results.
Best wishes
Lindsey
