Hi Gerry
As I was catching up on past posts I saw one from you regarding dairy free chicken Pate and I also saw your recipe for dairy free Salmon Pate. Anyway..... what is Dairy Free Pure from Waitrose you refer to? Is it dairy free cream like Alpro?
Thanks / BB xx
Hi BB, I'm looking at the carton. It's a spread. It's vegan and dairy free. There are 3 types. The only one I've used in the Pure dairy free organic, which is largely made of sunflower oil. I should have used the word spread on the recipes; I didn't, because it doesn't say that on the packet.
Hmmmmm!!!!!!!! I suppose a soft American margy sort of spread I have from the USA should be ok to use then? what do you think?
PS I don't know what Alpro is.
What does the US marge taste of? This pure is kind of neutral and not salty.
Alpro is a brand name for soya based products sold in most supermarkets. They make a single cream and I thought this is what you meant .....
My spread is bland(ish) and I use it instead of butter/marg etc
Sounds OK.
BB, one of the Pure spreads is made with soya. The only pulse I don't like is soy beans, so I didn't try that one. Thanks for info on Alpro.
I found it next to the butter in Morrison's, Bea. Haven't made anything wih it yet, it seems quite nice if bland.
Nice to see you back :-)))
